Frequently asked questions

What is a QR code?+

A QR (Quick Response) code is a 2D barcode that encodes data — URLs, text, contact cards, WiFi credentials and more — and can be scanned with any smartphone camera.

Is WE CREATE QR CODE really free?+

Yes. All 21 QR types, all design options, all downloads (PNG, SVG, JPEG) are free, with no watermark and no signup required.

Do I need to sign up?+

No. The generator works entirely in your browser. No account, no login, no email required.

Can I add my logo to the QR code?+

Yes. Upload a PNG, JPG or SVG image and we will place it in the center of the QR code. We recommend using High error correction so the QR remains scannable.

Will my QR code expire?+

Static QR codes generated here never expire. They contain the data directly, so they keep working as long as the destination (URL, file, etc.) is available.

Can I print my QR at any size?+

Yes. Download as SVG — a vector format — and print at any size without losing quality. PNG and JPEG also work for digital use.

Can the QR be scanned offline?+

Yes for data-only QR codes (Text, vCard, WiFi, Phone, SMS). The scan reads the encoded data directly without internet. For QR codes that point to a URL (Website, PDF, Video, Social), the phone needs internet to open the destination — the scan itself still works offline.

What's the difference between static and dynamic QR codes?+

Static QR codes encode the data directly into the dot pattern: scanning one decodes the exact data, forever, with no server in between. Dynamic QR codes encode a short URL that redirects through a service — you can change the destination and track scans, but you depend on that service staying alive. WE CREATE QR CODE generates static codes.

Can I track how many times my QR code is scanned?+

Static QR codes don't include tracking by design. If you need analytics, point your QR at a URL you control (your own page, a Bitly link, a UTM-tagged URL) so the destination logs the visit. The QR itself stays the same; you swap the analytics layer on the destination side.
